Scott Villanueva has been a Physician Assistant since 2002 having earned a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. He is licensed by the Arizona Board of Physician Assistants and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Scott has a strong background in Internal Medicine having practiced as a Hospitalist in the Valley of the Sun for 12 years which is where he developed his passion for Wound Care.

Scott joined Valley Wound Care Specialists in 2014 and is an asset to our dedicated wound team. He provides his patients with the newest technology and cutting-edge proactive treatments that increase the probability of healing and amputation prevention. He is also highly trained as a limb salvage surgical assistant. He has worked alongside many nationally recognized vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons and general surgeons in numerous settings. Scott uses the most modern surgical techniques for the best healing and has had very positive limb salvage and surgical outcomes. He performs and assists with many complicated surgical procedures including skin flaps, adjacent tissue transfers, split and full thickness skin grafts, and multi-layer wound closures. Scott also uses the newest and highest rated skin substitutes and biologic applications in his surgeries and in aggressive wound care.

He is known for his easy going down-to-earth personality and the compassionate care he provides for his patients. His approach to wound care is very patient orientated. He strives for positive patient outcomes all focused on treating the whole patient, not just the hole in the patient. He has quickly become a favorite of our patients.

 

Scott is a Phoenix native and resides in North Phoenix with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, reading, and golfing.
